Veterans Day

"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…" - President Wilson  Today is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

The Viking family is full of people who serve their families and communities in various way, however, we realize that there is no greater act of service than the men and women who choose to serve our country.  We are full of pride for one of our own.  Robert recently enlisted with the United States Army.  We are so proud of him following in the steps of his father, grandfather, and brothers-in-law who are or were a part of the United States Army.  Larry Lee, of our Watonga branch, served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1964-1971 in the 45th Infantry Division.

We would like to take this time to thank all of you who have served our country, we appreciate you today and every day.  We would also like to thank those who lost their lives defending our freedoms and the families who so freely shared their loved ones.  Lastly, we would like to thank those who have just enlisted or plan to enlist.
